Safe to plant annuals?

I'm trying to decide if it's safe to plant annuals and warm weather seeds yet in the Monument area, any thoughts?

RE: Safe to plant annuals?

If you have a way to protect them in case of late freezes or snows, you might be OK. I've seen snow and frost in early June in the Palmer Divide region. Not every year, but some. Today is cold with sleet -- not so good for the warm-weather plants. Some are shocked at below-40 temps even if they don't die, and their recovery and growth might be slow.

Some of the seeds you plant now won't be up for a few weeks. Those might be safer. If they are dependent on soil temps, you could check to see if the soil was warm enough. If not, then wait another week or two.

Thank you! I'll wait a little longer!
