Lily of the Valley

Ok, mom wants to know if she can grow them here. Mom had them in New York years ago and seems to be under the impression that just because we get snow, we must have the same climate as New York. I think we are closer to Arizona's climate, but that really does not matter.

I know I have seen them in the nurseries, but as we all know, that does not mean much. So the question is: how do they do here and is there anything special to growing them in our dry climate? Shade (which I don't have a lot of), mulching or any other types of tricks you might use.

Thanks so much

Billie
