I have been growing these for about eight years and they were doing beautifully. But last year (2012-3) they were hit badly by NW winds. I cut back most of the damage, hoping they would green up during the summer, but no such luck. After this past winter they are even worse. I hate to tear them out and start from scratch again. I did plant some skyrocket junipers as a wind screen, but lost those. That was self-inflicted; I didn't water them well enough to get them established and I'm terrible about winter watering. I always swear that I will be better, then....
Any suggestions on revitalizing the brooms.
