Well, foxes do eat plants, I've had them eat my lettuce and melons, and they'll eat windfall fruit. But thats pretty rare. I'd suspect a herbivore -

You might try the Colorado DOW all purpose herbivore spray - take one egg, whir it up with water and 1 teaspoon of chicken bouillon in a food processor / blender, strain it, and dilute to around a gallon. I make it stronger. Spray all over the place.

If its a fox, they'd likely go ahead and eat it, but everything else will stop bothering it.

The deer eat everything here. They eat my sunflowers, raspberries (honestly thought they wouldn't like the prickles), flowers, etc, etc.

We don't have deer here, so it must be rabbits or some other critter. I'm going to try the blood meal and see if that helps.

Squirrels will chew on (or taste) just about anything too, just depending on their mood!

In my experience, rabbits usually eat things down to the ground, and I think Charlene can verify that---unfortunately.

Rabbits ate my sunflowers to the ground last year. This year I'm putting a fence around them.

Yeah,I got sunflowers from the swap and i'm hoping they don't get eaten. Where i live it's usually deer,rabbits,and squirrels. Good luck!
