I've grown it several years - I don't know how much more heat tolerant than other varieties it actually is - from everything I've ever grown, once the temps get up into the mid-eighties, they all stop flowering.

I'm currently growing Masesto - Planted in March, its now only 10 inches high and just beginning to flower. Mid-eighties for the next few days, so this year isn't going to be much to brag about, pea wise.

My experience gave me exactly the same impression of Wando as David puts into words. I didn't really see much difference.

However, I only grew them once.

This my my 2nd year growing Wando. Planted in March and just starting to produce in the last week and about 2 feet tall. I doubt they last much past the beginning of July especially since they are in full sun almost all day.

I've tried fall peas before without much success. Could be I started them too late which I think was in mid August. I'm convinced that peas are best planted in late winter/early spring.

I always have other uses for any open beds in August than trying to grow fall peas.
