Center Glow Ninebark

Posted by Tikii none (My Page) on

I would like to know if Center Glow Ninebark will withstand high winds. We live in Colorado City, 20 miles south of Pueblo, in zone 5B. It is very windy here, sometimes 50 + mph. Thanks.

Don't have Center Glow but I do have several Diablo Ninebark shrubs which are about 3 ft tall right now. They get subjected to nasty winds on occasion and they do just fine. I do prune some of the overly long branches though.

RE: Center Glow Ninebark

I've got Diablo ninebark as well - they do fine in wind 50 mph gusts.

This year, for the first time in some 15 years, I noticed some damage on the south-facing side of the largest one we have. Five minutes with some pruning sheers and it looks fine.
