| I came out into my garden today to find that a swarm of bees had collected in my peach tree. Are they going to stay, or are they just regrouping before they fly elsewhere? Even if they leave, they should stay somewhere in the neighborhood, shouldn't they?
I never noticed a lack of bees in my yard. I suspect that a colony somewhere close by split or whatever they do, and the new queen and her staff flew here. Am I close to right? I don't know from bees, frankly.
On one hand, I am afraid of bees. I'm asthmatic, and I'm afraid that if I get stung it'll cause a serious asthma attack. On the other hand, with so many bee colonies failing, I'm glad to see so many pollinators.
I guess I don't have to go at my squash blossoms with a Q-tip this year. |
