Just for FUN ... a little eye candy!

Well, there's been a lot of serious discussion about water availability/usage/cost etc., and while sometimes serious discussions are called for, it's nice to celebrate the fruits of our labor too.

I already posted a few pictures on the Flowers in June thread, but since nobody seemed to notice them, I think a few more are called for ...

Eschscholzia californica (I believe the seeds came from Stevation, whereever he is these days)

The very photogenic Gaillardia 'Oranges & Lemons'. They are blooming like crazy, and the funny thing is that they were so late to come up, I thought they were dead, and almost dug them up!

A container combo of Petunia 'Prism Sunshine' and Chrysanthemum 'Primrose Gem'

... and the first bloom on my wintersown Osteospermum 'African Sun'

Now if those cheerful beauties don't make you smile, than you might just need a new hobby, LOL!

California poppies. Sigh. I have a self-seeding mixture called "Tequila Sunrise" from Renee's Seeds, a cream colored one and the normal deep orange, they're spectacular. They also, planted among the roses, are pushing the envelope between "flower" and "weed". They do amazingly well with good soil and regular moisture.

So, I went and bought something like a 1/2 ounce of normal orange seed, and tried to get a whole big border of them. Nada. Zip. Maybe 3 came up.

Today I transplanted some of the T. sunrise out into the border, and forgot to water them in, which I had better do pretty quick here.......

Gorgeous Bonnie! I love all the oranges.
I did my entire front pots and boxes in various oranges, yellows and lime green. Makes me so happy whenever I go out there :)
