| Hello all. Could an Amur Maple or some kind of purple plum work in Longmont (zone 4), CO? I would love to have a plum tree that produces purple plums for canning. I need the tree to be <20'. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Diane |

| You are actually in zone 5b. There is a beautiful Mimosa tree growing at the Denver Botanical Gardens that you might enjoy. Hawthorns can be quite beautiful too. |

| The problem you might have with a southern exposure and fruit trees is very early flowering - the soil warms up pretty quickly on the south side of stuff - followed by frost. |
