Ponderosa pine staking -- time to remove ?

I guess I probably already know the answer but I will ask anyway since I am noob when it comes to trees.

We have a mature Ponderosa pine (18-20 feet) that is still staked for wind protection -- it has been staked for at least 4 years since we bought the house and most likely some years prior to that with previous owners. The house is on top of the hill and we get some serious winds around here (50-60 mph gust are not uncommon). Having said that, there are a dozen or so more mature (30 feet+) Ponderosa pines and Colorado Blue Spruces that have no problem standing up to high winds.

So, should I remove the stakes or keep them a bit longer ?

Thanks for your help, Davie.
