Favorite Colorado Greenhouses/Garden Centers?

Hi, I am new, hope this hasn't been discussed recently, I did a quick search and didn't see anything.

I am going to Denver this weekend and really need a good greenhouse fix. I am particularly interested in tropicals/houseplants, but, needless to say, all things green are good. I have been to Echter's, but they didn't have the selection of houseplants I was hoping for.

Being new to the state I am still looking for 'my greenhouse', and would love to hear some reviews, recommendations. I'm pretty sick with my begonia lust, so I'm willing to drive just about anywhere. I'll just have to disguise the purpose of the trip so the boyfriend doesn't know I drove four hours to buy a houseplant!

Hi Empress,

Welcome to RMG!

For houseplants, I don't believe you'll find a better selection in Denver than at Paulino Gardens. Below is a link to their site. Click on Map To Us to see where they are. If you come in I70, you'd go to I25 and then a little ways north to Exit 215 at 58th Avenue, then a couple blocks west to Broadway, and a couple blocks north--and they're on the east/right side. You can't miss it when you get there.

I live right by Nick's Garden Center in Aurora, and they seem to have a pretty huge selection. They also have a farmer's market, if you're interested.

Yup. Paulino's. On the south side I'd say Tagawa. Both get a lot of my money.

Hey msfuzz, I live within walking distance of Nick's...we are neighbors? Nick's is very good (and their chile roasting has started for the season) Then there is always Tagawa, south on Parker Rd. which is HUGE.

I'm so looking forward to going to a nice greenhouse. I'm just hoping the budget and the boyfriend can hold up to our multi-stop field trip.
