I just want to thank once again the person who brought the Asiatic lily to the fall swap 2008(?). Thanks to whomever you are:

RE: Our Gardens in August 2009

Cukes are coming on and I'm harvesting bush and pole beans. The corn is nearly ready for picking and I have pumpkins everywhere! The pumpkins took the hint from the beans climbing up the corn and are doing the same so I better get the corn while I can still find it. JC, the lilies are beautiful! I planted 15 Asiatics in the fall and they were a delight this year, although they are finished now. I'm having a great rose year. I planted 9, 2 climbers and the rest Bourbons and Knock Outs shrubs with all but 2 thriving. I'm waiting, waiting, waiting on tomatoes! My wind break project has been a great success, 40 lilacs and 30 Rocky Mountian Juniper seedlings, all thriving (except for 3 lilacs the bh weed whacked). The better half said this is my best garden yet. It was also one of the easiest gardening years. I'd like to say it's because I've learned so much here on soil amendment and I think that's a big part of it, but Mother Nature really blessed us with rain and cool temps this year. Well, except for all that hail!
