| Hi - don't remember who brought the Spanish Hot Peppers to the spring swap, but hopefully you're checking the posts and will read this! :)
Mine is doing very well and I have quite a few green ones. I'm assuming I should wait until they turn red, as most peppers are usually hotter when they are red (I think),but please let me know for sure. Also, is there a variety name to this pepper? Thanks,

| Marj, I brought the pepper and am glad it's doing well!. It's a Burpee seed, Burpee #69657 Spanish - Pepper, Hot Chile Verde Hybrid Seed, mildly pungent and matures from green to red according to the seed pack. It's my first year growing it, so I can't tell you much more than that. Most of the peppers I've harvested this year (the few the grasshoppers will spare) have been really hot! I hear they do get hotter in hot, dry weather. I think I'd pick one and try it green before letting them completely mature. Barb |
