Rocky Mountain Gardening

Short, Hardy, Evergreen used for hedge?

We just moved to Zone 4 (from Zone 8!), so fairly new to Rocky Mountain gardening.
We are interested in finding a hardy, short (2-3 ft wide, by 2-3 ft tall, though we will shape so if it grows a little taller, that is OK) evergreen shrub/bush/small tree, etc. that we can plant to use as a retaining hedge around our lawn. What would you recommend?

Welcome, emmoutain!

It sounds like with that zone that you are not in the front range. What's your elevation, soil type and how much sun does this area get? Knowing those things will narrow down your choices.
