Wow! This year the crickets and grasshoppers in my yard and garden appear to be epidemic! They are everywhere. They have eaten the leaves off my tomato plants and have snacked on the tomatoes themselves. I have had to pick all of my tomatoes green to save them from the bugs. They have attacked my cucumbers too. Pretty much everything. Next year I think I will get a couple of chickens for my back yard to eat the pests. I haven't used pesticides, but maybe I should. Any recommendations besides the chickens?
