molasses as chelate?

| I have read that molasses is a chelating agent.
I'm wondering if anybody has applied dried molasses to their lawns and seen any greening effect from the increased iron availability. |

| dried molasses has sugar and sulfur in it, so it acidifies the soil a little, making nutrients more available to the grass. That, in turn, makes for increased greening. Bacteria also love to eat sugar (just like kids, huh?) and the more good soil bacteria you have, the better your lawn will be. |

| Thanks for the info. I think I'll give it a try if I can find it in bulk. |

| I haven't looked, yet, but it's supposed to be available at feed stores. There's a farm suply store in Layton I'll try when I get a chance. |

| You can buy dried molasses in the healthfood store, it costs about $4 a lb. |
