Thanks for posting that, Lucky. I had been planning to post an info thread about it since GW doesn't make it as easy to find the disable link anymore. When they first added those obnoxious in-text links, they had the disable site linked right at the top. There have been a lot of newbies showing up recently, and I was thinking they might never have seen how to "fix" it.

One comment! Anytime you clear your browser cache you delete the cookie that stops the in-text links, so you need to go back to the disable site and disable them again. I clear my browser cache AT LEAST once a day, and usually way more than that---I don't like being tracked! So every time I clear it, I need to re-sign into GW in order to post, and re-disable the nasty links when they start showing up. They do seem to have been "slowing down" in recent months. I think enough people complained, and they lost enough viewers that they started to figure out they were "messing with a good thing!" But they still haven't gone away all the way, so I just keep the link to the disable page right below my link to RMG, and when I need it, it's right there. Gonna link directly to the disable page below to make it easy for anybody else who wants to stick it in their favorites.

I found an alternate place where I could start a Rocky Mountain Gardening Forum today, but I think it's questionable if there would be enough traffic for it to be effective, so for now I'm gonna pass on that.

But RMG is much easier to use if you don't have to worry about accidentally mousing over one of the links and having a nasty big box come up that covers up half the text you're trying to read, so use the disable link when they show up. I've also read (don't know if it's true) that they track how many people disable them, so maybe that's why there are less now. If people aren't willing to deal with them, the advertisers will stop paying to put them in.
