Grocery store garlic

| I bought some organic garlic at the grocery store last weekend and ate some of it, it tastes good to me, but I also planted a couple of cloves in a container inside the house and they are already about an inch high. Has anybody had any luck growing "spice world" organic garlic grown from their California farms? Also does anybody know what kind they grow? I looked on their website and they never did say. |

This brings up that I have a 100 percent Italian friend that is all way griping that the garlic is too mild. He wants the good, old stuff you can smell out in the yard. Can't even find garlic in oil any more. I find that I can eat it straight out of the jar and agree with him. Any help on what variety we are looking for? Growing our own would be the answer if we knew what we were doing. KennyP |

| I grow 'Siberian', a hardneck, that withstands the cold around here and is very strong comparatively. We use ~1/2 of the amount that you would from a grocery store garlic. That is the strongest one we grow, but others I grow are stronger than store-bought as well. Dan |
