Looks ABSOLUTELY yummy, Meteor! Looks so good I tried licking the screen---but the flavor just wasn't quite coming thru! ;-)

Definitely gonna be a long winter, but a little bit of chatting on RMG will help make it go more quickly.

Mmmmmm ... that would be really good on an English muffin, with a few basil leaves, and a thick slice of mozzarella on top, popped under the broiler until bubbly.

I have one bowl of half ripe cherry tomatoes in the kitchen, and a few larger tomatoes hanging upside down in the garage, but then it's over for me as well.

I'm already working on my list of what I am going to grow next year. The hard part is narrowing down the 50 different kinds of tomato seeds to about 10, since that is absolutely the most I can fit in the garden, and still have room for a few other must haves, like peppers, carrots, cukes, canteloupes ...

When are those seed catalogs going to start arriving? Those always help the long winter evenings to go by faster!

The chickens got the last of my tomatoes today.

It just wouldn't turn red and ripen. They ate a hole into the center of the pinkish fruit but wouldn't finish it. I put it in the compost for next year's garden.

Sadly, there are some who cannot appreciate fresh garden tomatoes, Meteor.

Well, some of us were smart enough to fill the vegetable tray in the fridge with just-about-ripe tomatoes - red, but still hard, and I've still got a dozen or so left. Hey, they're not perfect, but if I let them warm up to room temp, they do just fine.

I just thought (sniff) that I'd let everyone know (sniff) that its true what your Mom told you: "Son, if you go on them innernet forums and start to act bigger'n your britches, you'll get yer come-up-ance! and she was right, because the tomatoes in the fridge had to go (sniff) to the compost yesterday.
