Timing

Did a search, and surprisingly did not find the answer! I'm in the garden tour on July 10. Spring flush for Long Island should be the first week or so of June, if I am not mistaken. I'll be pruning in April, and applying MMM at that time. What fertilizing program would you recommend, and when should certain doses be put down in/around the spring flush to work toward July 10?

Thanks very much.

HI Susan. How are you? Sorry, don't have an answer for you -- but what tour is your garden in?

Sorry I don't have an answer for you either, but I do have an additional question, what is MMM?

RE: Timing

Mills' Magic Mix, I presume.

Won't that depend on your local growing conditions? For the past two years, I have been trying to experiment with the timing of the pruning itself. But, at this rate, it will take me a number of years to master this. There are just so many variables, many out of my control. The weather - particularly ambient temperature and sunlight hours being the principle indeterminate variables.
