The California Coastal Rose Society will hold their 21st annual rose show on Saturday, May 3, at the Carlsbad Senior Center in Carlsbad. The theme for this year’s show is "Romancing the Rose," and several categories for competition are inspired by romantic themes in art, music, myth, theater, literature, and life.

The CCRS show is one of the largest American Rose Society sponsored shows in southern California. The organization is expecting over 600 entries and 1000 blooms from approximately 50 exhibitors from all over southern California. The show is open to both beginning and experienced rose competitors, and all are encouraged to bring their blossoms to exhibit. A variety of categories are available for entry, including a novice section designed for those who are new to participating in rose shows. The categories include various combinations of blooms and styles of display for many kinds of roses including hybrid teas, grandifloras, polyanthas, climbers, shrubs, miniatures, and old garden roses. A separate division is dedicated to various styles of rose floral arrangements.
Entries are accepted at the show location from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the day of the show, Saturday, May 3. The public is invited to "stop by and smell the roses" from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Senior Center is located at 799 Pine Ave. in Carlsbad. Information and rules about the show can also be accessed at the organization's national award-winning website, www.californiacoastalrose.com.

Come see the beautiful artwork for our first ever CCRS private label wine!
