The definition of a 'stem' of 'x'?

| When a rose show schedule class calls for a "stem of an OGR", or a "stem of a modern shrub rose", what does that mean, exactly? Is this a stem with a single bloom, not side buds? Or does it include a spray as well? |

| To be sure, I would think you would have to ask the show chair or schedule writer. Since OGRs and Shrubs don't have to be disbudded, I would assume it means the entry can have just a single bloom, a single bloom with side buds, or a spray. But again, the only way to be sure is to ask the people in charge of the show. |
