Rose Covers

Hello,

I've been reading and it's say's make rose covers for each bloom to stop the rain ruining the petals.

Does any one know how to make these? Is there a web site that show you?

Thanks
Emma

Emma, I read on another Forum that rose covers are not allowed in the UK if you are going to exhibit them. It's OK in the USA but not in the UK.

Hello,

I found this website. http://home.btconnect.com/cadoss/bexrose/RoseExhibitorsCalendar.htm
(it's a UK site) and it's says make Bloom Protectors (January No.5), So they must be ok to use in the UK.

Take Care
Emma

I went back and read the post on the other forum and they were talking about Floribunda bloom covers not being allowed. I liked the link you provided as Don Charlton was the writer.

I know one good exhibitor (has won national McFarland and both national HT and Mini Queen) who just uses wax paper bags. He puts them over the blooms, ties them below the bloom with a twist tie, and cuts off the corners to allow the heat to escape. It works for him and his results are terrific.
