There is an apparent error in the printed schedule of the Santa Barbara Rose Show on October 2nd. The schedule as presented on the SBRS website indicates that there is a class 9--One spray of a polyantha; however, the printed schedule omits class 9 entirely and moves from Class 8 to class 10. Interesting question as to whether the printed schedule or the website posted schedule takes precedence.
Also, can a class be canceled for lack of notice to the exhibitors? IMWTK.

Wow! This is unfortunate. No matter what the decision, someone will be upset. I would suppose the best solution would be to include the class in the show even though the printed schedule has it omitted.

Can you hear the comments now? "I could have brought buckets of polys if I had known!

Good luck and have a great show.

Well, sometimes I do bring buckets of polys. And it makes a difference as to whether I would get up at 5:00 a.m. and drive north to enter anything. Is there a rule as to what takes precedence? It used to be that the show schedule took precedence, but over the last few years, the schedules have been changed at the show with verbal notice to the exhibitors (well, at least some of them). Where there is conflcitd between the hard copy schedule and the one published on the web, which one has priority, or is it decided on an ad hoc basis? JD

RE: sbrs

Bud Jones, the SBRS rose show Chair of Judges, will issue a clarification of the elusive Section 9 dealing with polyanthas as well as an explanation of the Section G dealing with a restricted class for members of the Santa Barbara and Ventura County Rose Societies. So the answer to the question as to which takes precedence--intention or execution-- is intention. JD

RE: sbrs

I would agree that intention should take precedence -- especially since the schedule, with the class, was published on the website.
