Modern Roses 12 has been published and is available for purchase from the American Rose Society website. In addition to receiving the most complete and accurate rose reference book ever (with more than 30,000 listings), purchasers will also receive access to the Modern Roses website. This website will be regularly updated to include all new roses, corrections, and more. The website will also include pictures of the roses (subject to getting good pictures from the nurseries and photographers) and additional information not included in the book. In addition to the massive amount of information, the book itself is beautiful, with 64 pages of full color pictures.

By the way, we know any publication of this size, with this much data, will invariably have some errors and omissions. The editors of Modern Roses 12 will be happy to receive any messages pointing out any such errors or omissions.

Since Modern Roses 12 is the latest ARS publication, it becomes the primary source for AENs and other information needed for exhibiting. Further, since the ARS website has been voted by the Board as an approved publication, the Modern Roses website will always be the most up to date ARS publication. The Official List of AENs and the Handbook for Selecting Roses will be published with information taken directly from this database.

As always, the Combined Rose List will still be useful for new roses, as well as for all the information on sources for purchasing roses, and we hope its publication continues for many years. Happily, the ARS will be able to react more quickly and get the new roses added to the ARS website more rapidly than in the past.
