Requirements for Becoming an ARS Judge

| I plan to take the Judging Test in June in San Diego. I note that one of the requirements is that you have won 2 Certificates and 5 Blue Ribbons.
How will I need to document those wins? Bring the Certificates and Blue Ribbons?

You could do that or ask your Prizes & Awards chairman for the records of the years that you won your awards. Good Luck on becoming an ARS Horticultural Judge! Meg |

| I don't think you'll need to show anyone your winnings. Everyone in the SW knows who you are QUITE well. All you have to do is list your most resent winnings on your application form. Try not to get writters cramp!!! If you know your judges manual and your roses, you'll do just fine. |

| The application form asks you to list some of your certificates and blue ribbons. At that point you can list some of the better ones and it will be accepted. Until then, put it out of your mind. It is not a big deal. I spent years wondering what would happen if I ever applied to become a judge. When I finally did it I found it was much easier than I had suspected. You will do just fine. |

| No sweat Suzanne. List your National and District awards and that will WOW them enough. |

| Suzanne, Give them a link to roseshow.com showing ALL your winnings! You will do just fine and make a super judge. Looking forward to a show when we can judge with you. John & Mitchie |

| Be sure to bring your white cane with the red tip -- as you know -- once you become a judge, your considered legally blind. |
