As much as I really, really wanted to go to this event, I have no roses to enter. Go figure the weather! And it was a really great show schedule too. Maybe next year I can time my pruning better. But I've come to learn that you can't fight either City Hall or Mother Nature. Hope those who attend have a great, great time! Suzanne Horn

Sorry you couldn't come down - the show was a little smaller than last year, but the quality was great. We had 20 HTs to choose the queen from. Cal and Barb Hayes took queen with 'Polo Queen'. This is Cal's sport of 'Cajun Moon' and it was stunning. This is also the first time it has been shown.

So, did you get a picture of "Polo Queen"? And who were the other winners? Evelyn

Chris, Forgot to mention yesterday that we really enjoyed the new location for the show. This was a nice improvement over last year, and displaying the winners in the gazebo was nice too, not to mention that it draws alot of people into the garden center (wink)

This must be the oldest post ever to be resurrected. Let's see, the year 2004: 1. NASA's MER-A (Spirit) lands on Mars, and soon after, the roving robot was sending back amazing pictures. Three weeks later, it's twin sister Opportunity (MER-B), landed. 2. New England Patriots won the superbowl, the Yankees the World Series of Baseball 3. Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Malta and Cyprus joined the European Union 4. Arsenal finished the Premiership Championship unbeaten 5. G W Bush is the 43rd President in office 6. Summer Olympics was in Athens 7. One of the worst natural disasters in recorded history hits Southeast Asia - a massive 9.3 magnitude earthquake, epicentered just off the west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, generated enormous tsunami waves that crash into the coastal areas of Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Indonesia killing close to 200,000 people, with 40,000 people unaccounted for. 8. Facebook was born. |
