Roses "F"

Ok like I said in the E thread... we have to step this up and get things moving faster. I'll be doing them about every 4 days or so instead of once a week, so we can wrap it up by mid-March or so. By then some of us will have our regular season blooms coming on.

So, here we go with the "Fs":

    Beth, there are some real beauties in there, as usual, it's hard to pick a favorite. Pat, I've been wondering about Falling In Love, it's nice to see such a great photo of it.

    Sara Ann ~~ what a knockout picture of 'Folklore'! Colors glow on my screen.
    Mossy's pictures fill me with lust. Rose lust.
    Pat_bama ~~ I have never been able to get a good of 'Falling in Love'. That is magnificent.
    Beth ~~ I want to live next door. And be your best friend.

    I have only a couple in this group that are okay to share. This past year was rather difficult weather-wise, and I didn't get much. The first one is the floribunda French Lace.

    The other one is an OGR, Fantain-Letour. This is the first year it bloomed for me. It is actually quite pretty.

    {{gwi:2130633}}

    I hope you like these.

    Wow!!! I love these roses!!!! I just love these alphabet threads!!

    Here is Frederic Mistral. I've never liked it because the blooms are quite often ruined by rain, and, to me, it smells liked grass (green grass LOL).

    I'm coming up short on this one--especially since I don't have an updated recent photo of my ONE entry.

    Here's Fru Dagmar Halstrup--a lovely rugosa--during its first season.
    {{gwi:215443}}

    Shame on me for not having more recent pic--she is about 4 years old in my garden. But at least you can see the attractive foliage on these rugosas.

    The Fragrant Apricots above sure are beauties. But then so are the Fragrant Plums and Felicia.

    Next year I will have some pics of Felicia--a new plant in my garden that I forgot to photograph this year. I do love her bi-colors though.

    Ooh, I love these F's! I don't have many of them, but here is what I do grow.

    French Lace, best of all in spring

    {{gwi:2130634}}
    Flower Carpet. I know . . . but I didn't have the heart to SP it, so it grows on a tripod with Ballerina.

    {{gwi:2130635}}
    Fall Festival mini. Found in, dare I say, Walmart--I love it. Stays very small, fits in easily.

    Wow, some real lookers in here! I love all the stripes, og course! Favorite Dream is a knock out, Beth! You're Falling In Love looks way prettier than mine ever did, Pat! Floral Fairy Tale is to die for, Mossy!

    My one and only F is Fragrant Cloud and that's probably not long for this world either. It's been a one cane wonder for several years and I have no idea how it survived last winter but it did, lol!

    Wow. Plenty of Roses to salivate over. I need to take a closer look at Floral Fairytale. Is it usually bicolor?

    Here is my Flower Girl. She was a new to my garden last year. Came in a band size but wasted no time in sending flower sprays.

    Aw man, I have FLORENCE MAYER out in one of my beds, but she doesn't bloom very much. I definitely gotta get out there and fertilize!

  • steve_gw

    Florence will be VERY vigorous and give plenty of lovely blooms, if given some regular attention and fed well :)
    The photo is from a greenhouse in Wales, so blooms outdoors in brighter sunlight will be more white with pink edges, not so much yellow :)
