"R" roses

I'll try starting a new thread again--the "R" roses. Hope I'm not duplicating anyone here.

I only have one contribution, but it is one of my favorite new roses.

Red Intuition (HT)--my new plant last summer.

Here's a close-up: Red Intuition

Waiting for your "r" roses. I know they will be lovely.

A friend of mine has that rose, Kate, and I agree, it is beautiful. Nice pictures.

Here's my only contribution, Rosa Mundi, the gallica, although you already saw it in the L's with Lynnie!

Oh, harborrose--Rosa Mundi and Lynnie--I get it. But I thought it would be rather cool if both types appeared on one bush!

As usual, Marina, I hardly no where to start with the wealth of beauty you always post. So I'll begin with the clematis--I wondered how red Rebecca would get. Glad to see your picture. And I like Rooguchi--I have one too.

Somewhat at random (cuz I like them all), I'm really taken with your two photos of Rosanna, and Rosalinde right before that is lovely also. Then for a change of pace, Rose of Pickardy is wonderful! But so is Rosomane Janon --I'm particularly fond of those yellow/gold/apricot combinations, and that one has a dash of orange-red in there too--dramatic!

    Thank you, Kate!

Marina, lovely roses all. I have a very young Polareis or Ritausma and I love love love that bloom also. Wonderful to see an entire bush shot of that rose.

    Thanks for posting them!

Marina, I love love love Radio Times and Rose of Pickary! I've looked at both of these Austin's numorous times and really never gave them much thought, but in your pictures, I really like them! I have Robbie Burns coming this spring from Hortico...and I'm excited about that now :) However, after seeing your picture of Polar Ice, I realize mine is planted in a completely inappropriate location! I didn't leave it close ot enough room!

Kate, I have Red Intuition on order for Palatine...and I can't wait! You'll have to let me know how it overwinters for you. I was a little hesitant to order it because of its hardiness.

HarborRose...don't you just love Rosa Mundi? It and Tuscany Superb were the first two OGRs I ever purchased!

My favs are Rusty and Revelry, Beth. On the roses forum I was just asking about good russet colored roses, but nobody mentioned Rusty. I'm glad you posted it :)

Thanks for that photo of Royal Amethyst, Beth. It was one of my favorites but didn't like zone 4. I tried growing it potted as well, but it didn't like that either. I sure miss it.
Well, here are some of my R's to add to the show:

Rainbow Knockout (not keeping this rose - it washes out to blah in the summer sun.)

Ramblin' Red (not quite a climber for me in zone4)

Red Masterpiece (looking way too orange in the intense sun of this photo, but it is a true velvety red)

One of my must have roses, Rosa Glauca

The old Kordes climber Rosanna from 1982:
    {{gwi:218860}}

Rosette Delizzy, which I played around with growing in a pot for a few years - until I got tired of the in and out spring dance!

    Royal Edward

    Reine Victoria

    Rose de Rescht

    R. cinnomomea plena, found growing at an old homestead site near my home
    {{gwi:276828}}

    R. canina - from rootstock

    R. Magnifica, one of my fav rugosas

Beth --my favorites are Rhapsody in Blue and Royal Amethyst -- two lovely purples!

    The Red Intuition, of course!

Anne-- and Magnifica Rugosa is--in a word--magnificant! And Royal Edward is statuesque and beautiful!

They are all so lovely, I can't pick a fave.
It's so interesting to see, how different they grow in different climates

    BTW.
Ritausma (aka Polareis) means Dawn in Latvian.

Tammy, I was just browsing again and was reminded that I meant to tell you that Red-headed Stranger is a stunner--I'd say a "knock out," but that name seems to have other connotations these days. LOL

Love those golden stamens in it also.

Marine, I really like you moss, Robert Leopold. I've been thinking about adding a moss to my collection.

Here is my list of R's.

Seil, Ruffled Cloud is just adorable! I also really like your Rainbows End. I had mine potted for three years and it did terrible. This past fall I transplanted it into the ground to see if it would do any better...its do or die time! lol
