| It is really hard to pick which of the photos I have that are the best three. I will offer these as some of my best. The first is a trio of Oklahoma blooms that appeared when I wasn't specifically looking for them.

Blendguy: Your photos are just breath taking, especially Guy de Maupassant: it should be on the front of a postcard or card or calender... I love it. so pretty.

Something caught my eye in these pictures. It looks to me like in comparing my Silverado with ramblinrosez's Silverado, the opposite direction effect of petal winding is showing up again. It is apparent in mine that the petals are winding counter-clockwise while in the the other one they are winding clockwise if you look at the very center. Even though it is two different bushes hundreds of miles apart, the variety is the same. I just find it interesting that it happens. Do you see what I am talking about?

Hi Bustopher, Interesting,...I never really notice the direction at which a rose would be winding around to but perhaps it is the direction in which it is facing, mine is facing North northeast, which way is your bloom facing?

My Silverado was facing pretty much straight up. I have posted some pictures before of two roses on the same bush even blooming at the same time with their petals winding in opposite directions. The majority of the time the petals wind in a certain way. Once in a while one winds the other direction. Some try to wind in both directions which leads to what is called a split center. Why this happens I do not know. I just find it an interesting observation.
