Oh,oh--Peter Mayle wants attention NOW!

Peter Mayle is probably the biggest show off in the garden--big fat hot pink blooms. You couldn't miss him even if you tried! But he is jealous of all the attention the other roses are getting, so enjoy the pics -- and tell him he's wonderful! Cuz he really is.

Isn't he a wonder? Can't stress enough how BIG those blooms are! Does periodically get a touch of BS, though as hybrid teas go, he is fairly disease-resistant most of the time. Good on rebloom also.

Since Elina sneaked in there, I might as well show a more flattering view of her.

She's a wonder in her own way--pumps out blooms and reblooms like there was no tomorrow. She is one of my favorites also--and is gorgeous growing next to Peter Mayle.

I have Elina and Peter beside each other in my garden too! I love these two roses. My Elena is a power bloomer, and I just love her. My Peter is only two, but I think this might be his year to shine. Your photos are just lovely. Thanks for sharing. Lesley

Peter Mayle will be getting lots of attention from me this summer, I added him to the garden last autumn, really looking forward to seeing it in bloom.

Great pics, love the rich color of the blooms.

Since now I have to have Peter Mayle...I have an addiction for big old fat smelly roses...where did you find him? I know that ARE and Chamblee's did not list him:(

Beautiful! I think I saw a big fat bud (finally) on my PETER MAYLE. Can't wait to see him blooming like that.

Just Kristy--I don't quite remember where I got him (and his brothers--I have 3 of them), but I ordered another one for this spring--from Roses Unlimited. (Yes, I'm going for 4 Peter Mayles!) Actually, the latest one was supposed to be a replacement for an earlier one that was a weakling and I worried he wouldn't make it through the winter. Little did I know we would have the mildest winter on record for this area. Little fella has perked up and may even bloom--though it will probably be a couple more years before he attains anywhere near the size of the other Peters. So now I have an extra Peter, but never fear, I've already figured out the perfect place for my replacement Peter Mayle!

If Roses Unlimited is out of Peter Mayles, try either Reagans or Pickering. I know I have ordered several roses from them both in the past 2-4 years--which is about how old my Peter Mayles are, so maybe that is where I got them.
