from the garden and Farm Supply

I was fed up with only 1950's rose offerings this year. Until 2 weeks ago when Farm Supply got in a huge shipment of Week's roses. Still no Austins. Anywhere.

Good As Gold - a lot of color change

Good As Gold at the nursery. Nice aging colors!

Apricot Nectar - I prefer the bud stage but fully open is not bad. Love the color and form.

Chrysler Imperial - couldn't capture its red. Hasn't won me away from Mr Lincoln. Excel frag. but this bloom had few petals and a lot of flop.

Tournament of Roses with the measles

Tournament of Roses - a keeper for lasting ability in bouquets and overall health.

Lagerfeld - despite a cane soaring out he continues to be a fav. Good form and not too mauve despite it looking quite pink in this pic. Tall grandiflora.

Ebb Tide - bush at nursery.

Ebb Tide - now I see in person what is being so highly praised. I was impressed.

I burst out laughing at your "Tournament of Roses with the measles." Thanks. Beautiful pics.

I know what you mean about only finding ancient HTs in the stores. I don't even see Austins in the good nurseries around here like I used to.

Your rose photos are great. I love Lagerfeld and Good As Gold best.

I think Austin is only selling from their own website..or maybe they have specific nurseries they deal with.
