| I am drawn to the single-form blooms beyond all others.
I would like to share a few of these blooms with you. All are miniatures except for "Ballerina" that is grown on a trellis at the front of my house. Thanks for taking the time to look. Bob BALLERINA-full bush

Ahhhhh!! Singles are so beautiful. I have a ballerina bush, about 12 inches tall and 9wide! :) do you have a pic of the shrub in the garden set back a bit? I have a feeling I didn't give it enough growing room. This will be its second year soo I have a bit to go. Thanks for showing us these!!

lilyfinch, I am sorry that I don't have a shot that is any more distant than this one. I am growing it as a climber and it goes up to about 8'-9' by summer's end but I do not do my typical hybrid tea type spring pruning. Grown as a bush it will tend to create long canes that will be rather limber. If kept dead-headed, it will continue to give you blooms all summer. Absolutely one of my favorites. Thanks, Bob

Bob, there is something incredibly clean and pure about single roses that I just love. I have Simplex but it gets all but hidden by daylilies as the season goes on. I also have Ballerina. It grows on a 7 foot tripod along with Flower Carpet (who had to either climb or leave the garden.) They are spectacular in spring. Ballerina is wonderful as your photos show. Another single form rose I love is Altissimo. My flowers are never quite as big as they should be, but I love them. Altissimo makes a great cut rose too. I love all your photos--they are perfect!

Gorgeous lush photography, Bob and they really highlight the beauty of your single'd blooms. Makes me sigh with peace! I just love your Ballerina "climber". I'm gonna try deadheading Cornelia too. It is prolific like Ballerina, but! only in the Spring. Maybe if I deadhead, I can coax it into blooming more. Instead I'm busy waving my fist at Cornelia, lol! and I think my energy would be spent better elsewhere instead of cussin' at how stingy of a rebloomer she is, haha! Signed the Evil Pirate with the Lopsided Roses.... (wink)

What else can I say... just lovely. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.

I love singles too! I don't know how they manage it but with just 5 little petals they are simply gorgeous! That Simplex photo is amazing, Bob!

Wonderful photography. Grace Seward is my favorite, but that bush shot of Ballerina steals the show.
