My roses--slowly opening

The cool weather has allowed the roses to open very slowly. Here are just a few that have started.

Joseph's Coat is just beginning

Lynn Anderson

Crowd Pleaser (LA sport)

Jean Giono is all yellow in cool temps

Ingrid Bergman--huge buds, blooms

Lillian Austin--wish the blooms lasted longer

Tuscan Sun

another Imposter

Priscilla Burton is a climber in a partly shady area. It is more burgundy in the heat.

kathy, so exciting when the roses start blooming, isn't it! Those are all lovely, but Ingrid Bergman and Tucson Sun
really stand out. Stunners!

Kathy--Love your Priscilla Burton and Imposter shots. Have not grown these before but seeing your pics I may have to give them a try next year.--Ron

They're beuatiful, Kathy! I think the cool temps make the colors deeper too!

Kathy, your roses look fantastic! Great photography, too! From this bunch I especially love 'Jean Giono'. Thanks for taking the time to share your beauties. Here in Southern California the cooler spring weather has benefited the roses in terms of the live span of the blooms. Just wonderful! But we are now expecting two really hot days. I have already started to try to water the roses well to prepare them as good as possible for that.

I had a chance to get Jean this year, but I passed on it. What a shame - yours looks fantastic!!!

Two others that leap off the screen and say 'take me home with you' are Lynn Anderson and Joseph's Coat.

You sure have a way with the roses!! Awesome!!
