Very pleased with the colour. A deep wine purple.

It's difficult to capture the colour correctly.
The camera makes the flower more burgundy than it is in person.
The first photo is edited to show the true colour of the flower in person, the second photo is an untouched photo.

    Wow! Love the color!!
I would think the color would be faded as the flower is right by the wall which should reflect heat. Yet the color is still bright. VERY nice!

Canadian_rose - Secretly, the rose is in a pot. I've been waiting for the sun to reach its proper spring and summer position on the sky to find the perfect home.
so it's actually sitting in front of a shaded pond where the reflected heat is pretty much nil.
Also... secretly... I've been postponing potting her in the ground and put her on front of the pond because I wanted to see the blooms in their peak colour before the strong SoCal sun washed them out.
    Very pretty isn't she?

aswhad - I thought so as well! The fragrance is a puzzler... everyone thinks out smells lovely but no one knows what it smells like

Did you get to smell any perfume yet? I got my first TZ a few days ago but it was cold so no fragrance, but other buds are getting fatter.

Yes... the fragrance isn't powerful. But it isn't faint.
The reaction from people smelling it is either " that smells incredible" or " eh".
Every one has zero idea how to describe the scent but we've all agreed that " clove" is not it.

    Good Grief that's a beauty!

Curiously, I have a HT Twilight Zone that is completely different than yours that came from Vintage Gardens a few years ago. It's a sweet rose, but not the stunner you have..

seil - than you! I do too...
Wish this rose would last In a vase. It makes lovely dried flowers though.

sherryaustin - I have ebb tide too... this one is the winner as far as growth habit.
    It truly is stunning.
The flowers look exactly like the tag. I was shocked.
And it's holding up really well in the heat.

hmm.... mine is categorised as a grandiflora. I wonder...

Ok..Not a great picture, but this is my my HT Twilight Zone from Vintage gardens... Doesn't quite capture the color, which is on the lavender side, but a bit odd.. I really like yours much better... such a rich color.

To be perfectly honest that doesn't look the same to me at all.
    how big are the blooms?
I've got a bud growing on mine now that's in intense heat and full sun.
I'll take a picture because that will be it at its most faded.

No, it's clearly not the same plant. Flowers are about 4" across. This is an HT hybridized by Williams; Year of Registration: 1996
Vintage Gardens says this about it:
"Small blossoms of rare coloring, this high-centered, scrolled bloom is a blend of light magenta and tan on the insides of the petals, buff on the reverses. A very small grower."

    interesting....
    I think... that..
you should make room for this twilight zone.
Everyone can use a deep purple rose.

This is twilight zone fully faded.
This bud was the last of the spring flush, and developed under high temps and full blazing sun.

    I know what you mean!
The same thing just happened with my twilight zone. It went from a deep smoky wine colour, to a bright purple. Same weather conditions!

Indeed! A happy healthy rose bush. Mines growing fast, a boom machine, and exceedingly healthy.

    yesssssssssss....!! lovely!

After all my fussing over my poor sickly Angel Face you have no idea how happy I am to have a purple rose that wants to live.

lol... purple roses like to thrive here.

Angel face is probably my least purple purple though. More mauve.
