Aaahhh, it's my absolute favorite rose. I swear I could smell it when I saw your first pic. The fragrance must be imbedded in my memory. : )

I have two growing up an arbor. They are just starting to bloom. I am so excited to see their beautiful coloration again.

They get huge in my garden and I'm in a cooler zone. But I wouldn't be without them. In fact, I'm thinking of getting one more. But this one won't be located near an entrance. The UPS guy is not fond of the thorns! : ) You can click on the individual pics for a larger view.

Kathy - they are pretty that's for sure. This weather has just been crazy hasn't it? It's cold one day, hot the next - the poor roses just don't know what to make of it! Most of mine just get fried when the sun comes out. Yesterday was lovely - today is totally overcast. Good day to go do some weeding I suppose!

I had Westerland in my garden for two years, then we had a very cold winter without much snow cover, and even though I had covered it with leaves and a blanket it died. But what a bloomer it was the envy of the neighbours. I am in Montreal Zone 5A, I am wondering if I should try again and perhaps bury it deeper when I plant it.
Any ideas? Its been great to see the photos.
