    Your flowers sure look happy. They look good. Make sure you give Sutter's Gold a good sniff. It is one of the few fragrant yellows although I think it is classified as something else.

    WOW!

    Tell me, is that one rose bush of Jude the Obscure. It looks amazing! How long has it been planted there? Thanks.

    Thank you, everyone!

    Jumbojimmy, that is one Jude the Obscure. The plant is going on 3 years old. I don't prune it hard, just shape it because every little cane produces blooms. I like the rounded growth habit a lot. It is not a fast repeater but that fragrance is awesome:-)

    As pretty as Heritage is, I want to dig it out & put Jude in there!

    And a polyantha I fell in love with years ago, Margo Koster. What a sweetie.

    And your shots of Pat Austin confirm I need an orange. Delightful!

    Really amazing roses and pictures, Masha. Your roses always looks so lush and healthy. Is that WS 2000 growing on the other side of the sidewalk in the squares? Also is that Purple Pavement next to the first picture of Jude? I love the color! Your front garden must be a traffic stopper! Feel free to post more at any time!

    It's going to take me a few visits to this post to really see it all. I am officially in love with your Pat Austin.

    Jude the Obscure is just breathtakingly beautiful as well.

    One small question: what is the name of that small pink rose next to Heritage? I love the two together.

    Just can't pick out a favorite - since they are all fantastic!!!

    I am curious about Janet and George Burns - do you have full bush shots?

    Wow - that was a treat!!!

    Thanks!

    Thank you, everyone, again!

    Ingrid, you guessed all the roses right:-). People do stop to ask about the roses pretty often, I cut a lot of bouquets, too.

    Renee, the rose next to Heritage is Regensberg. Here it is, actually two growing together, a little past their peak.

    {{gwi:1231125}}

    Carol, my George Burns is in a pot, I still can't decide whether I like it enought to keep it or not. Here is the best picture I have of it

    {{gwi:1231126}}

    I think it could be bushier, but I try to stop it from grabbing people, so mine is fairly narrow.

    I don't have bush shots of Janet because there is no bush. It is just a few long long long thin canes from which long long and thin laterals emerge. When the heavy blooms open (if they open, did I mention they ball regularly?) those laterals flop straight down into the dirt. I am trying it as a climber but even then I have to tie all blooms by their necks to the arbor.... It could be that in your colder zone it won't grow those awful canes and be more like a shrub. Sorry, I think I have complained enough:-)

    I don't know if this picture shows it very well, but you can see how thin the canes are. The blooms are huge and heavy and it blooms in clusters. I buy lots of those green ties:-)

    My gosh those are beautiful - your pics and your roses! Pat and ws2000 are amazing. Would you say your pics of Christopher Marlowe are pretty representative of that rose's color? If so, I want one!

    Aswhad, your roses are beautiful!

    Huttnem, I would say the color is pretty close, although maybe not so much blue in the second picture...

    Wow!! - I think there's no question but that you should keep George Burns - such a soft yet distinct mix of colors!! I love it!! And it has tons of flowers too!!!!

    Yes, I see that Janet has spindly growth - but you have made the most of this plant! Looks stunning!!!

    Thank you!!! Thank you!!!

    All so lovely. Very nice. I think Penelope was the show stopper for me though. That and Lyda Rose which I also grow. That's where my mind is more this year though with single and old fashioned roses.

    As well I really enjoyed George Burns. I have to re read the thread and see if the quality of re bloom is mentioned.

    Thanks for those.

    Thank you, everybody!

    Ceterum, no the soil is alkaline but I amend it heavily and scatter sulphur once a year. I don't have problems with it that way.

    Kate, GB reblooms well even in a pot. It has good fragrance too.

    I have never seen G. Burns before. If you conclude you don't like it you should have plenty of takers. It looks remarkable but then you live in the land of mint and honey when it comes to growing roses; all of your roses are remarkable.
