This has been a very bizarre spring. Cold and windy, and now raining. I don't like it. I've had more powdery mildew than ever before and more weeds than I can keep up with. But the blooms are coming on fairly nicely despite the bugs getting many of them. Here's the best of this weekend's blooms: BRIDE CHARMANT (Freelander) GARDEN FUN - aka GARDEN DELIGHT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - the original one JULIA - new one I got from Palatine this yr... wasn't expecting the old-fashioned quartered look LILAC ROSE And here are a few "non-roses": This is a new dianthus in the "Diana" series. It's a lavender version. I'm lovin' the color! A tiger lily I don't really remember ever planting! Asiatic lily (can't remember the name)

Enjoyed seeing the roses and the non-roses!! Glad the roses persevere regardless of the wild weather that is thrown at them. That tiger lily is a scrumptious color.

I think you sent some your weather our way, Beth. I can't remember a colder, wetter Memorial Day weekend, at least in recent years. Lilac Rose is just exquisite, and those lilies are stunning. I've never seen a dianthus in the color of yours. I love it. Thanks for posting your pics. Diane
