It must be a very old cultivar, at least 20 years old. The plant is healthy and care-free. It produces a large number of flowers everyday. Even if I cut all the opened flowers, the same number of flowers open in a day or two. The flowers are very fragrant. The scent is strong, sweet and rosy. I keep these in the refrigerator, the entire refrigerator takes on the scent now =)

Can you tell the newly opened flowers have a redder color than the older ones which are more purple?

It looks like Cuthbert Grant, both in foilage, bloom form and what you describe as opening more red and fading to purple. CG is also very fragrant.

Thank you so much. I think that it is. Yes, it is strongly fragrant. The fragrance is sweet and lingering. How pleasant. It is double but not very double. How do you call this kind of "double"?
