Come stroll with me...

Happy Memorial Day! Just enjoying the day and thought I would share some roses at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Some photos were taken yesterday, some last summer.

Interesting how different gardens present their roses. Here it is a formal garden, edged in brick with gravel walkways.

The perimeter of the rose garden has a mix of climbers, old garden roses and shrub roses. Here are a few favorites:

Great way to relax and keep cool!

Moving on, you can still see the roses through the larkspur.

Other areas of the garden incorporate roses with perennials.

Newest tenants at the Garden

One last rose--reminds me of one of Redoute's models.

What an impressive public garden. I love the mix of formal and informal, which is so inviting. The ducks add just a bit of whimsy to the formality of the fountain and rose beds. I would love to visit this garden someday. Thanks for the lovely pics. Diane

Thank you for sharing. Never thought I'd say it, but I like the informal gardens better than the formal rose garden at this place.

I'm more of an informal, cottage-style garden fan, but I love the mix of formal and informal here. Hybrid tea bushes can be rather stark in a bed by themselves. Love the softening that mixed perennials provide.
