| All taken weekend of May 3rd Sexy Rexy - McGredy IV '84 I prefer the color of Sexy Rexy over Our Lady of Guadalupe. Twilight Zone at San Jose Municipal Garden. Only the camera could distinguish the color difference between it and Ebb Tide in the same bed. TZ photographed more magenta than EB. Blooms slightly larger with more petals on TZ. Foliage on both plants was looking sad (lower leaves yellowed and dropping off - TZ worse). It was next to impossible to say where Twilight Zone stopped and Ebb Tide began; shot at ends of bed!
Strike It Rich - Carruth '05, grandiflora
Perfect Moment - Kordes HT, AARS '91 (soft rose, one dramatic bloom) Port Sunlight has small blooms to which I kept returning. They outglowed every other rose.

shooting from the side shows pink tones my eye didn't see buds, so-so last of this yellow gold gem Summer Dream - Warriner'86 (nice)
Traviata - Meilland '97 HT (dark pink, wasn't drawn to form or color of this one, only took pics because I'd read so much about it. Maybe it 'reddens' up with heat?)

| What a bevy of beauties!! I really like Strike it Rich!! What a lovely color. I didn't know it was such a lovely color. Watch out for that bug - it's a baddie, I think. I also really like Perfect Moment - Man that's pretty! I've never heard of this one before. That first picture of Summer Dream is beyond gorgeous!! I loved them all! Thanks! |
