Brand-new rose in my garden, and here is its first bloom. (This is so exciting!)

Red Intuition (HT)-- dark red stripes on lighter red. So cool!

Below is another new rose and first bloom on it, but I had trouble getting a decent picture of this one.

Memoire/Ice Cream (HT)

Don't know why the edges of Memoire look slightly brown in these pictures. In the garden, it looks pristine white. It is a florist rose and looks it even in the garden--very elegant in appearance.

Valencia really isn't new this year, but this is only its second year and it didn't bloom that much last year--so it is almost new. At any rate, Valencia is a close neighbor of the two above and the three blooming together right now look very nice.

Valencia--fully open. Neat thing about this rose is that the bloom gets larger and larger for each day it is open.

Since I just planted more new roses from Roses Unlimited a couple days ago, I should have some more first blooms on new roses in about a month or so (so exciting--but I guess I already said that, huh?) LOL

It IS very exciting. I love that Red Intuition. I would grab one if I saw it in the nursery. Unfortunately, the nurseries around here no longer have some of the treasures I look for.
Valencia looks great, too. I will remain content with Marilyn Monroe who is the same color, as I have no more room left.

Your Valencia is gorgeous, Kate. I was thinking of getting her but eventually chickened out because apricots and light colored roses always bleach to white in my garden. And here you are in Kansas, just like me, hehe....

Beautiful color shadings on Red Intuition. Memoire is very elegant, I like the dark foliage as a backdrop.

I was thisclose to buying Red Intuition this year and now I'm kicking myself for not grabbing it. Your pictures are wonderful!

Thanks for these pictures. My Red Intuition hasn't bloomed yet. I'm still waiting. Memoire has nice flowers, AND they smell good. Your Valencia is nice also.

Very nice Kate! Where did you get your Red Intuition from? I got mine ownroot last year and it didn't over winter for me. I'm thinking if I try it grafted, it may do better. Its just such a unique color.

Tammy, I got my Red Intuition from Palatine Nursery (Canada). They grow their roses on Rosa Multiflora rootstock instead of Dr. Huey. I like all the roses I got from them, but if I remember correctly, you have to order a minimum of 3 roses before they will take your order. I think I also remember that you need to get the order in in early Autumn (for the following year). They run out of Red Intuitions rather quickly.
Now that I think of it, Memoire (also shown above) came from Palatine also.
