| inga007 - Isn't it great? It provides a much needed bright spot on my garden. seil - Very! It's an extremely good grower to. Very disease resistant. I haven't had to do a thing except water and feed. First year in the ground, planted it in late March. dublinbay - Hmm... I don't really get apricot from this rose... those photos were taken with my cell phone... at dusk on a cloudy day. It's definitely not as in your face orange as say.... gingersnap. What I like most is the colour changes the bloons go through. it's nothing super dramatic, but I appreciate it all the same. The buds are red . and the blooms open scarlet. Quickly opening the middle turns orange. Which eventually takes over the whole flower. After a few days it takes on a bright scarlet tint around the edges of the petals. The orange in the center of the petals gives way to yellow. The whole thing then fades to an orange creamsicle colour with s tinge of pink. The last few days are a very bleached apricot. Excuse that overly enthusiastic description. I'll try and get some shots of it in the sun. Maybe some better colour still pull through. Though most of them are past the orange stage |
