Rouge Royale, Liv Tyler, Eden, Pink Traviata, Belinda's Dream, Colette... or if you have another suggestion My soil is claylike... and I amend with compost. I have an eden already, but it's a small little one, and the bushes at my local nursery are huge! Rogue Royale looks great, but here mixed reviews...

I can't pick a favorite, but Liv Tyler, Rouge Royale, and Belinda's Dream are all good roses for me. Since you mentioned Rouge Royale first and last, I think you want that one the most. The blooms are amazing and it has a great strong scent too. Black spot resistance in my Florida yard is above average for a hybrid tea. Vigor is good for me and it's grafted on Dr. Huey and planted in a large pot. The bush looks like a typical hybrid tea, not very impressive. The first few blooms did crisp a little in the intense sun, but I moved it somewhere with a little less sun. There is a good amount of blooms and an above average repeat. The blooms last for a long time cut and on the bush. I'd get it if you want it. You are posting this question on the picture gallery forum. You may have more responses on regular rose forum.

Rouge Royale does not take the sun here in southern Ohio. A beautiful bloom, but ephemeral. Colette too does not take the sun well. Belinda's Dream is supposedly problematic in the North.

Frederic Mistral is very vigorous and wonderfully fragrant. Mother of Pearl has Buck breeding in its parentage and is rock hardy here. White Gold blooms freely and takes the heat quite well.
