Nice to see Mr. Lincoln blooming down near earth where the rest of us reside. He's usually blooming taller than I am! Hope your experiment of drastic pruning works out in the long run--my other HTs never objected when we had a bad winter and I had to chop them down to a few inches tall--so maybe Mr. Lincoln will actually thrive on such treatment.

(But don't try that with my floribunda Eutin--which I did, and it has taken a couple years for Eutin to get almost back to "normal"--and Eutin is otherwise one tough rose. Think my Austins would strongly object also.)

And how do they perform bloom wise?

Our ML blooms last 3 days in cool weather and only
24-35 hours in hot weather...
Even with a high budcount they are opening so slowww...
Great looking flower but I'm gettiing very bored with ML...lol
