| I was excited to see my DAR order come in the mail today. I opened the box and in the plastic wrap were only 2 roses?
I originally ordered:
But only 2 roses?...plus the 2 roses are Winchester Cathedral and Munstead Wood.....the receipt says only 2 roses on it and it is L.D. Braithwaite and Munstead Wood. At this point, I'm thoroughly confused haha. I called DAR and they said that Crown Princess was out of stock so they are refunding my money for that one....I guess I will have to look around the local nurseries or online somewhere for somebody that is carrying CPM. Winchester Cathedral was just a mistake so they are letting me keep it and are shipping out an L.D. Braithwaite. Kind of annoying on the mess up, but the lady was very helpful and the end result turns out nice as I get a free rose out of the deal...not sure what I'm going to do with this Winchester Cathedral though....already have 2 of them planted. I'll figure something out though.

| Jeff since you already have too many Winchesters and it's a freebie, I would definitely suggest giving it away! I have found that when one becomes a rose addict, there is only so much room that one has. It saves the headache of having to dig the whole thing up again, lol! Each unwanted rose you have just adds up to more fertilizer use, more time, and more fussing around, hehe, and for me that is one huge expense. Do not bother keeping Winchester whereas someone else who doesn't have it would be pretty thrilled. Since it's free, it'd make a great "donation" or a gift.... Ugh, sorry to hear about the news with the out-of-stock rose and the misorder. Yeeeks!!!! :( |

| Haha well I considered that, however I think I have numerous cuttings that are rooting that I don't have much use for either. Not sure yet. I think I will put this bare root into a pot like I did before as I am moving back to Columbus later this year for work so I can start all over with the potted roses...presuming I have room for them all. |

| Nick, so when are you going to move back to Columbus? Have you already graduated? If so, congratulations! Hope you find your ideal field of work too! When I first graduated I had to freelance for a year and a half before I was hired full-time. I was blessed in that I found a wonderful job with wonderful boss/coworkers. But it did take me while. In the art field it can take some time because back then, computer graphics did not start until 4 years after I graduated, lol! I actually majored in traditional illustrations and specialized in children's magazines, etc. My first job was doing Snoopy and Peanuts product designs, hehe! I still keep in contact with my former boss as well and I have wonderful memories of those times.... Well, we are looking forward to more photos of the garden-in-process, Nick! |
