Thanks so much. This is my first home , so it's my first attempt at long term gardening :-) and don't let that hedge fool you , it's privet! I have to trim all 170ft of it every month ! I had no idea when I bought the house , just how demanding it would be .... Ha. Thanks for the great comments everyone !

Rachael, you created a beautiful flower bed! Love it.
Could you please tell me what are the plants on your second photo: something airy and grayish on the very left and then, something blue next to it.

These two , right? The plant directly in front of the evergreen shrub is a salvia " May Night" it's a deep purple . And the tall "airy" plant, to the left of it I think your referring to is Walkers Low Catmint.

Thank you very much, Rachael. Beautiful combination! Your little corner deserves a page in an upscale garden magazine!

You flatter me! I'm learning and getting better. If you like these I dare say you might love hyssops . Anise Hyssop is tall airy and beautiful! Mine is not blooming yet but these photos are the closest to mine that I could find. I have them behind the salvia , because they are even taller. Thanks again!!

Rachael,
Thank you for suggestion! Yes, Anise Hyssop are beautiful plants, bee magnets, too.
I am planning on adding more companion plants to my rose beds. Anise Hyssop is definitely on the list!

I find that this garden is a butterfly and hummingbird magnet, they're are also a clematis some purple coneflowers and bee balm in there. Would love to see your garden !
