This is Christopher Marlowe, I love the color, looks like it is going to be a good bloomer.

My first bloom ever of Mister Lincoln, I'm not that impressed yet. I'm sure it will get better.

I hope your Mr Lincoln does not look fuschia hot pink in person. He's consistently velvety red.

Looking forward to your pics of Christopher Marlowe. It's one I've not seen and garners praise.

Thank you Iris - Mister Lincoln looks red, but definitely not velvety red. Sometimes first blooms on a newly planted bush aren't that great, I do expect them to look better after it becomes more established. We've had quite a bit of rain lately, that may make a difference.

Nice looking bloom Sara-Ann!
I have a own root Mr. Lincoln which I dug up this Spring and placed in a large container. He's very fussy here with amount of sun, cooler weather, etc. etc. etc.
Blooms blew within 18-48 hours when he was in the ground getting 10 hours of sun. Cooler weather ML will not even bloom here.... So now I can move him around to hopefully get better results....

Yes, I'm sure it will get more velvety and red. It's still a baby. :)

Thanks Carol - I'm confident that it will improve too. It doesn't look bad, just not what I was expecting from Mister Lincoln.
