I looked at the name - and thought - "What?" That is a very bizarre name!! LOL It does look pretty amazing!! Such nice form on the blooms. Leaves are a treat.

David Clemons names almost all of the roses he breeds after racehorses. Tabasco Cat was a racehorse who won two of the three races in the 1994 Triple Crown.

I would have answered earlier about the straw mulch, but....ACK! My workplace has apparently started blocking this forum. Now I can't post until I get home at night.

Anyway, nah, it's just cedar mulch from Menard's. It's fresh this summer, so it's still pretty-looking. It's all gray underneath the top layer, though, so it must be doing its job.

It's always nice to see minis/minifloras. Tobassco Cat is a good looking rose with nice foliage. Thanks for showing it.

I'm a thoroughbred breeder and when I come to a rose forum and see the name Tabasco Cat, my worlds are colliding, lol.

Like many thoroughbreds, Tabasco Cat was named for his sire Storm Cat and dam, Barbecue Sauce.
