THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Been waiting for some more pictures of yours even though now I'm depressed with my roses. My goodness you have a talent for growing roses. Now whats your secret?? And aren't you the one with the Julia Child grouping with the moat? Will go back and look at these pics a zillion times. Thanks, Judy

I've written down all of your advice for how you do it. Maybe mine will look like that some day. I did show them your pictures so they knew what they could look like if their owner could fertize them the right way. What on earth do you do to get your rosees that large in early summer thats the size I have at the end of the season.I swear I'd drop dead if I opened my door and saw that. BEAUTIFUL! By the way thanks so very much for all help you share on here, very helpful. Pat

your garden is a rose heaven. Please please name your roses.
The yellow rose bush next to the red, is it golden celebration? And also in your twelth photo, please tell me the name of the light and dark pink roses.

RE: Back yard.... some wide angle shots

Thankyou!

Most of the roses are austins

Golden celebration, heritage, mary rose, abraham darby, christopher marlow, sharifa, pat austin, molineux

climbers are golden celebration, ramblin red, graham thomas

the semicircular hedge is quietness

day breaker

rose de resct

Karima, the dark pink is mary rose and light pink is heritage

I never like austins, kinda thought they were floppy leggy and stingy with blooms..this is their third year and they have really filled out, bushy and blooming machines and the flower form and scent is absolutely amazing..I have a sharifa asma (not in the pics) that is just unbelievable, the blooms are just ethereal..I am now an austin convert. especially for spots with a few hours sunlight, they do great and the delicate blooms keep their colors longer..heritage and mary rose never impressed me but this year they are just awesome. and golden celebrations suddenly woke up this year and is in its third flush now. just beautiful full buttery blooms..I am getting ready to prune for the fall flush..everything is just huge this year..

WOW,The back yard is even prettier then the front yard. Those roses are just gorgeous.I have been to the ARS gardens several times, and their roses don't hold a candle to these.Just Gorgeous..Got to be feeding these jewels on Steroids.I love that little house back there, too.Looks like a play house, maybe a work shop. What ever it is,I love it..That red Clematis is gorgeous, too.I have planted Clematis over and over, and they get about 4 to 5 ft high and then die,for some reason.Course,I have some bad, hard clay soil thats like cement when its dry,and gum when its wet.I have been scrolling up and down looking at all these roses for about 40 minutes,They are beautiful, and thank you for sharing them.

Pappu, a question for you:

Are these planted in groups of 3 or more? Just wondered, because they look so HUGE. Jealous!!

Spectacular! I have enjoyed your photos so very much! Do you have a 'Rose Care' document that you email to all your fans who want one? If so, I would like to be on your list! It is hard to find your past rose care posts on here.
Just curious... what is your average weekly percipitation there? You must have good and regular winter moisture. Your roses must really be ready to run in the spring.
Thank you so much for sharing your photos and advice and experience. You make the world a prettier place!

Pappu, your garden is amazing! I would really love to know your secret. If that were my back yard, nothing would get done, I'd be enjoying that.

Thank you!
I will post my watering and fertilizing schdule. I have very little time after a work day(my work day is from 6 am to 7.30 pm) and over the years, I have tried to simplify the fertilization, pruning, deadheading and watering schedule. I will post this as a separate thread, with pictures. The secret to a lush healthy rose garden which are always in bloom is lots of WATER..the more the better. I think roses are water hogs. Without water they get fungal problems, dont flurish, dont bloom, drop leaves and just look miserable..and if you have 250 or more roses, forget hand watering..you will be wasting all your time. I spent two weekends last spring to install a watering system from dripworks and everything is now automated. The system thoruoughly soaks my rose beds and now in the heat, I do it everyother day and water and heat is an irresistable combination for roses and they go crazy. Ofcourse I deadhead, spray about once a month and keep them tidy, but folks, water is the key.

Phyl, most of my roses are in multiples and in hedges, but the austins are all single. they tend to grow huge and I would think after 2-3 years, a planting of three closely together like austin suggests would be unmanagable unless you had a huge yard and the space

I think i need a cigarette (and i don't even smoke) LOL.

Very Nice Pappu. Somehow i thought zone 5 was a bit challenging for roses but now i see it is actually Rose Nirvana.

Do show us Julia when you are ready.

Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful!! Beautiful!! Thank you so much for this close-up view of your garden. I don`t know what the .... I am doing wrong. My garden looks nothing like this. One or two blooms on a bush... I water, but will try more. Thank you again for these lovely pictures. Lesley

RE: Back yard.... some wide angle shots

Pappu your back garden is simply unbelievable and no matter what you might say I just think you have a magic touch. There are very few gardens that could rival yours in the sheer number of rose blooms. Thank you so much for these incredible pictures. I can't even imagine the fragrance when you step outside your door. And all that with not a great deal of time to care for them. Congratulations!

Pappu....you are now the driving force behind the bloom mania that is fixing to take place! I will never be content until I can get at least HALF the amount of blooms you have! LOL! You must have the greenest of thumbs. Thanks for sharing your beautiful bounty. April

RE: Back yard.... some wide angle shots

Thank you so much for all the kind comments..I have great soil and everything I plant just takes off..

Florence, the climber is New Dawn. It had a great flush but unfortunately I will have to take it down this year..the arbor is flimsy pine wood one and it is about to collapse any time under the weight of ND..I have done every thing to contain new dawn, never fertilize it and deliberately left it out of the irrigation system and when the arbor fell over last fall, I poured extra concrete all around the posts and some around the roots, but nothing will stop this beast. It is just too big for an arbor..I am going to replace it with something more orderly..maybe one of the new kordes climbers, but taking ND down first will be an ordeal, something that I am not really looking forwards to

I just stumbled upon this thread and knew it needed to be brought back to life. Your garden is soooo amazing. I'm sure everyone here will appreciate looking at these pictures again as we are all waiting patiently for spring.
